cha-cha-cha-changes...

Well, the boys leave in a week to go visit their Dad for the summer, so Mat and I are trying to spend as much time as possible with them.

On top of that, we are making a life changing decision in the next couple weeks so please be praying/keeping fingers crossed for us. More details soon...

Keagan Monster and Xander Puff

All the mommies out there know how challenging it is to deal with a newborn. Try TWO. Honestly, they are awesome laid back little things.. they only cry when they are hungry or need a diaper change, and even then it's like "Whaa!" * stops for a minute to see if anyone heard him * "Whaa!" *stops for another minute to see if anyone is coming* . My biggest issue is I feel like I don't have enough time for both of them, PLUS I have Spike and Spencer that need attention too. If I'm holding one, I feel guilty that I'm not holding the other. Now granted, Mat is here and he is an awesome Daddy, to all four of them. But it's just, I'm their Mommy and I want them to all have equal time and attention and sometimes it's hard to find enough hours in the day to feel like I accomplished that.

They are doing awesome though. As of June 6th they will be two months old :) They are getting better at supporting their wobbly bobble heads, and they stay awake a bit longer between meals checking out their world. They look so much like their Daddy, hopefully they'll behave a bit better than he did though!

Spike and Spencer will be going to visit their Dad in the next couple weeks, and I don't know what I'll do without them. Not looking forward to it so much.

muddy summer days...

After Spike got out of school today, we got out the sprinkler and set it up under the trampoline. For the next five hours, Spike and Spencer ( and our Boxer Duke ) jumped and played in the mud. Tomorrow is Spike's last day of school... I can't believe he'll be in FIRST GRADE this August! Scary how fast they grow up...

Mat was doing a remodel job for a friend of his and missed out on the fun.. we've been married eight months and I still miss him even if he leaves for an hour! I can only imagine how much more of a muddy mess things would have been if he'd been here, and I would have loved every second of it :)

The history of our family

Mat and I have been married since October of 2009, but we have actually known each other for about fifteen years. We met when we both attended Trinity Fellowship Christian School. I was in the 5th grade and Mat was in 6th.

We hung out a bit, but we were never really close in school.. I was actually best friends with his brother Mikey, who was in my class. We eventually went our separate ways, but whenever I talked to Mikey on and off over the years I would always ask what Mat was up to and how he was doing. In July of 2009, I moved back to Amarillo from Austin, and Mikey and I resumed a close friendship.. which soon led to me running into Mat. He had changed quite a bit from the dorky guy I remembered from school.. in fact he was pretty freakin' hot!

We started hanging out, and one thing led to another.. and around the first of September, I found out I was pregnant. And within a week of finding that out, we had another bomb dropped on us...

We were pregnant with TWINS. We talked quite a bit about what we wanted to do, and what we wanted out of life, and decided that what we really wanted was each other. Permanently. So, on October 28th, 2009, we got married :)

Life has already thrown some tough stuff at us, Mat's wonderful Mom Carol passed away this March, exactly one month before we welcomed Keagan Shaun Hale and Xander Declan Hale into the world.

Life is a bit stressful raising twins, plus my two older boys, Spike and Spencer.

But as a family, we work together and make it through. So that's what this blog will be about. Our Family. I couldn't be happier with the way things have turned out.
